Getting ready for Gustav

Just wanted to give everyone an update on the hurricane. We are staying at our house in Baton Rouge. We are very prepared with lots of food, water, candles, flashlights, batteries and diapers!We will start experiencing wind and rain overnight tonight as the storm makes its way ashore. If you are hearing things about New Orleans on the news, please keep in mind that we are about 70 miles Northwest of New Orleans and Baton Rouge is above sea level, so the concerns that they have with New Orleans are not the same here. We are very safe here - if we weren't safe, we would have left! Once we lose power it may be difficult to get in touch with us, so if you can't reach us by phone please do not worry. We will do our best to get word out that we are ok. Keep Louisiana in your thoughts and prayers over the next few days!
